In honor of Mother’s Day this Sunday, May 14th, we wanted to be sure to honor and celebrate the quilting traditions of Mother’s in our midst.

Our North Georgia Spring Fling Shop Hop was a great success!

We saw hordes of quilters and crafters passing through our doors and those of our partner fabric/quilting stores (see the list of participating quilt shops below).

Friday April 28th and Saturday April 29th will mark our first Annual Spring Fling.Quilting Event in North Georgia

Three North Georgia Quilt Shops are hosting this fun Spring Fling event and you can win GREAT PRIZES as a participant!

Grand Prize:   Janome M7050 Sewing Machine

Sign Up For Our FGQS Log Cabin Window Challenge Block

The Challenge:  You will make a minimum of 3 Log Cabin Windows measuring 14″ X 51″ per the instructions included here.  When you sign up at Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store you will draw three items from the bowl that must be in your windows.  They can be the main feature of what we see from the street or they can be part of a larger scene, but must be identifiable. You can use 1, 2 or all 3 of your items in each window or one per window. Your quilt must be completely finished backed and bound.

Your quilt will be judged by your quilting sisters and brothers, both online and in the store.

We’ll provide photos of all the quilts entered for the online votes.  

Quilts displayed at Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store will remain on display at our Blairsville Georgia quilting shop from June 3rd to August 31st.  

Dates:  Deadline for submitting your quilt for judging will be June 1, 2017.  Judging will begin June 3rd thru Aug. 31st.

The Winner will be announced Saturday Sept. 3rd at FGQS.

Fees:    There will be a $5 fee to sign up and receive your instructions.

Prizes:  1st prize: $200 store certificate to Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store

                2nd prize:  Gift box filled with goodies at a $75.00 value

Hey Quilting Friends,

Wow, its been a busy year and on behalf of the team at FG&QS, we want to THANK all of you who have shopped for quality sewing supplies and participated in classes, events, subscribed to our newsletters and collaborated with us on our love of quilting!   I hope all of you have been able to create something of beauty for your homes or for gift giving as a result of the efforts we’ve made at Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store to be your “go-to” fabric and quilting store, offline in our store and online.

Please continue in 2017 to share your comments and suggestions about how we can improve or support your interests in sewing and quilting.

We’ve just added a whole load of new classes to our Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store calendar for 2017.   We’ve also tidied up some of the existing monthly club meets, organized our schedule and we’re ready for a FANTASTIC New Year.

Sewing TGIF = Sewing Together Gets It Finished.

Sewing Together Gets It FinishedIts fun to sew together.  Thats why we’ve created Sewing TGIF!   Now you can enjoy Sewing Together Gets It Finished, a new free session we’ve created on Fridays.

Do you have quilting projects started but life just gets in the way?   – or you pass by it with full intention to sit down and continue, but pass by it again?   We’ve got the perfect solution!   Its called Sewing Together Gets It Finished only at FG&QS.

Get over to Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store on Fridays for Sewing TGIF!   When we collaborate on our projects together, we gain a sense that our peers are overseeing our progress and therefore, puts a fire in our work to get it finished!   Enjoy sewing together with other quilters and get the support and help you need for challenging tasks.   You’ll also get all the supplies you might need right at your fingertips, should you run short of thread or other sewing supplies.  You might even see something new you’d like to work on.  At Sewing TGIF, you can embark on any project, every Friday (except the second Friday of each month) starting January 6th!     Sewing TGIF is a fun session with people who enjoy quilting and sewing just like you!   Get signed up to ensure a spot in our classroom.
