Hello Quilters. Did you know Fabrics Galore & Quilting Store is participating in the All Southeast Shop Hops Event 2026?
The ASESH Event goes from August 1 through September 30th, 2026 so there’s plenty of time to hit different states and discover new shops and new destinations.
Shop Hops are a popular event these days with so many quilters enjoying the skill and talent that produces heirlooms for family gifts, friend gifts and to enjoy in our own homes.
Shop Hops provide an economic infusion for Quilting and Sewing Tourism across the Southeast United States.
Fabrics Galore and Quilting Stores is calling all Southeast quilters:
On Your Mark. Get Set. Shop Hop!
If you’ve never heard of a Shop Hop – our kind is uniquely suited to the quilting and sewing industry, however Shop Hops are also “cousin” events to other events like pub crawls, antique road shows, road rallies, and similar events in the food industry.
In our “quilters” case, customers visit a quilting and sewing store (think Blairsville Georgia based Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store. You SHOP, and then you HOP to the next store to repeat the process.
Shop Hops introduce quilting and sewing enthusiasts to participating stores with a way for stores to showcase their unique personalities, offerings, and talents to new and returning customers.
Typically, Shop Hoppers collect stamps or stickers at each store they visit. You can also win prizes or earn discounts. Shop Hops can vary in size from a few stores in one area to 100+ stores across an entire event.
Economic Impact
In a day when brick and mortar retail locations are dwindling across the nation, a ShopHop works to keep quilting and sewing stores thriving, so customers can continue to touch and feel the fabric in person. A Shop Hop not only supports quilting and sewing stores, but also positively impacts tourism and other travel-related businesses. Thousands of Shop Hoppers converge on the cities where stores are located–eating, shopping, and staying overnight.
Definitely the real draw besides touching and feeling fabrics and stocking up on supplies, is the joy of meeting new quilties and heading out for fun with sisters, moms, daughters, cousins, aunts and dear friends to spend the day, a weekend or even several weekends together, laughing, sharing and just having fun, and seeing as many quilting shops as you have the will to muster.
Shop Hop Inc organizes the All South East Shop Hop (ASESH) and manages other large-scale shopping events across the country. They estimate that, depending onthe number of stores involved, the economic impact on a state can be up to $10million. In visiting multiple sewing stores, Shop Hoppers also enjoy traveling through large and small towns, discovering parts of the state or region they may have never visited before.
