North Georgia Quilting ShopBlairsville Georgia based Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store is hosting another Long Arm Certification Class in April.

When:  Saturday, April 9th 10am to 5pm

Instructor Fee:   $100.00 – Must pre-register and pre-pay.   You can register and pay online now.

Learn to quilt your own quilts.

In the class you will learn how to load your quilt and the basics of using the machine, such as bringing up the thread from the bottom, starting and ending. We will cover basic free motion quilting such as all-over loops, swirls, loops and stars, etc. We will also cover using an all-over pantograph pattern— how to set it up and how to roll your quilt. You will use a laser light on the machine to follow the pantograph pattern.

You will need to bring your lunch or snack. Our lunch break will be 30 minutes long. We have a full refrigerator and small microwave.

On behalf of Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store, we sincerely apologize for the minimal communication through our blog as we ventured into 2016.   With such a huge workload behind us in the transition to a new website platform,  point of sale system and the addition of online shopping, we’ve still got lots of refining to do to bring everything up to snuff.   Add to that some very brutal weather conditions in January that closed down North Georgia and many other areas of the USA, we’re paddling like crazy to make sure Fabrics Galore & Quilting Store kicks off the New Year with colorful new fabrics, notions and supplies, and also some fun new classes.

WE ARE CLOSED WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 2016

Whew, its been busy at Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store!

We will return to our frequent blogging and news announcements really soon! Promise.

WE WANTED YOU TO KNOW THAT WE ARE CLOSED Wednesday, January 20th.

Due to severe weather conditions, Union County schools are closing tomorrow,      Fabrics Galore is also closing to keep staff and customers safe from harms way.  Depending on the weather, we will open as soon as the weather system moves through.

Please check back on the home page, where we’ll post updates.    Our Facebook page will also be updated daily.

WEBSITE UPGRADE

If the weather is keeping you indoors, jump online  to peruse through our new online shop for Quilters, Crafters and Sewers.  We retained parts of our old website including the blog, and subscribe features, but the front end, the shopping portal and class or events calendar is brand new.

Speaking of that, we have had a technical glitch in the Subscribe link, and have submitted a support ticket to get that problem resolved.   The link I entered on the menu bar is correct, but their system is trying to resolve it to https://.   So its been in error mode and we do apologize profusely.  Both Patricia and I have wondered why we were not getting our normal stream of subscribers.   So any of you who may have tried, unsuccessfully, for the past 2 weeks, to subscribe, the problem will be resolved post haste.

Currently we are only processing purchases with paypal.com, but additional merchant candidates are under review.

IN-STORE POINT OF SALE UPGRADE

Not only have our online operations been upgraded significantly, but we’ve integrated a Point of Sale system that we hope will streamline the time to check out.   The only sacrifice in going down this road was WORKING OUR BEHINDS OFF  over the holiday season. (Where are those  elves when you need their help. ) Patricia and her dedicated team counted, entered merchandise, scanned, counted some more…  So when the weather clears and the sun shines, come on into check out the sparkling brand new iPad based, upgraded checkout experience.

We cater to the quilting community, at large.    With focused leadership, Patricia Squire is positioning Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store to become a leading retail and online marketplace.   We so appreciate the many fans and subscribers who followed with us through 2015.   The true joys of quilting, crafting and sewing are the friendships we make, the shared experiences, and the rewards earned through our own personal  expression in the things we create. I just don’t believe there is any substitute things that make us glow inside.   So I’ll close in saying, for you,  for us, for anyone who loves quilting, crafting and sewing, the team at Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store will be there with you, all the way, watching you glow.
