Rag Class is a monthly class held on the 4th Wednesday of each month.

March 23rd is the next Rag Class. Learn how to make a beautiful lap quilt just like the one pictured here, using your favorite fabric patterns.

Lover’s Knot Quilt

In May, we’ve added a brand new class called T-Shirt Quilt Class. We’ll be posting a photo of what it looks like soon.

May 16 & May 23 – Join us for this fun T-Shirt Quilt class led by instructor Pam Ippolito. Bring at least 12-20 clean T-Shirts, basic sewing supplies and if you have a 14 inch square ruler or larger. Additional supply list will be given at time of sign up.

In June, Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store is hosting a very special event at one of the area hotels for a guest speaker and demo. NEW Classes! Quilting Letters and Its Good To Be Square

We’ve just added two new classes to our website with brief description and links to the detail page. The classes are held at our shop at 19 Cobalt Street in Blairsville GA.

PRE-REGISTER FOR CLASSES ONLINE

Did you know you can now pre-register and pre-pay for classes online now? This feature is part of what we worked hard to achieve back in December/January timeframe. Just click on our web based Traditional Calendar or List View Calendar and then once you find a class that fits your interest and your schedule, click the link to the detail page. There you’ll see the Add To Cart button to get pre-registered. Easy and Convenient.

Quilted Letters Class (2 days)

Quilted Letters is a 2-day INTERMEDIATE class led by Instructor Pam Ippolito for dates March 30th and 31st at Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store.

In this class you will make the perfect Quilted Letter gift for yourself, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, birthdays, house warming’s, family crests and so much more!!

A sample on display at our fabric and quilting store. Instructor fee is $35 for the 2 day session. Those registered for classes at FGQS receive 20% off on all supplies purchased at our store.

Class size is for 10 so be sure to register early to get a seat for this class.

It’s Good To Be Square Class

Rise Lockwood instructs this class for BEGINNERS, held on April 6th.

This fat quarter friendly quilt has a three dimensional appearance. This pattern can be used to make a quilt or a table runner. The table runner is displayed in the store.

Class size is 10, so be sure to register early to get a seat for this class.

SHOP HOP 2016

As you know, we’re approaching that time of year for Shop Hop. Fabrics Galore is working hard to get our quilt ready. You’ll start to see details in our news emails going forward. Can you believe we’re only one week away from March? Wow! Time flies. I for one, will be happy to get into the spring season to get all this bone chilling weather behind me. Brrrr.

April 9th Long Arm Certification Class Scheduled

Blairsville Georgia based Fabrics Galore and Quilting Store is hosting another Long Arm Certification Class in April.

When: Saturday, April 9th 10am to 5pm

Instructor Fee: $100.00 – Must pre-register and pre-pay. You can register and pay online now.

The Backporch Quilters

Learn to quilt your own quilts.

In the class you will learn how to load your quilt and the basics of using the machine, such as bringing up the thread from the bottom, starting and ending. We will cover basic free motion quilting such as all-over loops, swirls, loops and stars, etc. We will also cover using an all-over pantograph pattern— how to set it up and how to roll your quilt. You will use a laser light on the machine to follow the pantograph pattern.

You will need to bring your lunch or snack. Our lunch break will be 30 minutes long. We have a full refrigerator and small microwave.
